New Rituals for Spring
SLOW MOMENTS
Kinfolk's latest piece explores an idea we find deeply resonant: that the small transitions in life — a new haircut, a journey, a quiet farewell — deserve their own rituals. Not grand gestures, but intentional pauses. A moment to mark what's changing.
The Ritual Design Lab created three ceremonies for everyday transitions, each using simple, tactile elements — olive oil and herbs, whispered words, folded paper. It's a reminder that meaning doesn't require spectacle. Sometimes all it takes is slowing down enough to notice.
As the light returns this spring, we find ourselves drawn to this idea. The season itself is a transition — from dark to light, from indoors to out, from heavy coats to lighter layers. And with it comes a natural shift in how we see the world. Perhaps that's why a pair of tinted glasses feels right for this time of year: not to block the light, but to soften it. To filter the world just enough to be present in it.
